JOANNA STASIAK

She was born on 2nd March 1965 in Łódź. In 1989 she graduated from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń from the studio of Professor Janusz Kaczmarski. In 1991 she completed post graduate studies at The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Arts in Oxford under the supervision of Professor Stephen Farthing. In 1998 she received a scholarship from the Aid Fund for the Independent Polish Literature in Science in Paris. She devoted her two-month stay to the interpretation of Poussin's last painting "Apollo and Daphne". Together with Jacek Antoni Zieliński she wrote a series of books for students of primary and lower secondary school level called "The World of Art". Since 1996 she has owned her own "In Spe" Gallery. In 2002 she prepared an exhibition called "Gouaches, Water-Colours and Drawings by Andrzej Wróblewski. Inedita". We kindly invite you to the website of Galeria In Spe www.in-spe.art.pl. Since 2006 she has been a professor at the Institute of Artistic Education of the Maria Grzegorzewska Academy of Special Education in Warsaw.
