		BIOGRAPHY     PAINTINGS     TEXTS MIROSŁAWA ROCHECKA She was born in 1960 in Sępólno Krajeńskie. She studied in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and in 1989 graduated from the studio of Professor Mieczysław Wiśniewski obtaining a diploma in painting for her works called "Rzeczy-wistość". She paints, draws as well as writes articles and essays about art. She teaches drawing and painting at the Faculty of Artistic Painting of the Faculty of Art Restoration at the Department of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. She has presented her works at twenty solo exhibitions, including: in 1993 - "Blue and Red" ("Niebiesko-czerwienie"), Galeria Na Piętrze Toruń; Painting, Modern Art Salon Łódź; 1994 - "It is Us" ("To my"), BWA Gallery Krosno; "Image and Likeness" ("Obraz i podobieństwo"), State Gallery of Art Wozownia - Toruń; 1998 - "Road, Truth, Life" ("Droga, prawda, życie"), "S" Gallery - Toruń; POLSK KUNST, Galleri John Shmidt - Ribe (Denmark); 1999 - "I Am Looking for Your Face" ("Szukam Twojego oblicza"), BWA Gallery Włocławek; 2001 - "The Third Dimension of Colour" ("Trzeci wymiar koloru") BWA Gallery - Rzeszów; 2002 - "The Third Dimension of Colour" ("Trzeci wymiar koloru") - BWA Gorzów Wielkopolski; 2004 - "Spiritual Matters Abstraction and Sacrum" ("Rzeczy duchowe - abstrakcja i sacrum"), State Gallery of Art Wozownia - Toruń; "Upstairs, Downstairs - Abstraction and Sacrum" ("Na górze, na dole - abstrakcja i sacrum"), Critics' Gallery Pokaz - Warsaw; 2004 - "Abstraction and Sacrum" ("Abstrakcja i sacrum") Grenzen los Kunst, Landtagsfraktion im Landtag Brandenburg SPD, Berlin, Stadt und Landesbibliotek Potsdam, Haus der AOK Tetlow (Germany); 2005 - "The Mysteries of Colour and Light" ("Tajemnice światła i koloru") - The Museum of Modern Art - Lesko; "Abstraction and Sacrum" ("Abstrakcja i sacrum"), Forum Gallery - Toruń; 2006 - "The Mysteries of Colour and Light" ("Tajemnice światła i koloru"), BWA Gallery in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. She has participated in numerous collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including in Toruń, Bydgoszcz, Warsaw, Włocławek, Kołobrzeg, Stargard Szczeciński, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Elbląg, Częstochowa, in Lens and Bruay La Buissiere in France, Goettingen and Wilemhelmshaven, Germany and in Vilnius, Lithuania. She received numerous awards for her works: 1992 -The Work of Art of the Year 1991 - Third Prize (for painting), 1994 - The Work of Art of the Year 1993 - First Prize (for painting), 1995 - The Work of Art of the Year 1994 - First Prize (painting), 1995 - The 2nd Annale of the Polish Artists' Association (ZPAP) - the award and title of The Work of Art of the Year (painting); 1997 - The Work of Art of the Year 1996 - First Prize (painting); 2002 - The 10th Biennial of Sacral Art - BWA Gallery - Gorzów Wielkopolski a medal in the field of painting. Her works can be found in private collections in Poland and abroad as well as in the Regional Museum in Toruń and the Collection of the Polish Painting Foundation in Lesko. She is a co-organiser of the Fifth Forum of Polish Painting "The Nature of Things" ("Natura rzeczy").
