Research programme and equipment:

Palynological Laboratory: lake and peat sediments in Northern Poland and applied mainly to the evolution of vegetation cover and climatic changes during the Eemian, the Late Glacial Period and the Holocene.
Sedimentology and Thermoluminescence Dating Laboratory: sedimentological studies (structural and textural analyses) of Quaternary deposits: glacial, lake, alluvial, aeolian deposits: Cooperation with the Thermoluminescence and Absolute Dating Laboratory at the Institute of Physics dating of Quaternary deposits (separation of quartz and feldspar for dating analyses), glaciers' mass balance, glacier front fluctuations in Spitsbergen.
The Laboratory is equipped with: Laser Particle Sizer ANALYSETTE 22.
