MONOCHROMATIC V-BAND CATALOG RELEASED
Maciejewski, G.
June 22, 2004

SAVS_V38 is a photometric catalog containing mean V magnitudes for over 27.000 stars. The data were gathered while monitoring 38 selected fields spread over the all northern sky, covering 228 square degrees. Observations were acquired between September 2002 and January 2004 by the SAVS CDD camera. In a table below, there is a sample extracted from the catalog file:

SAVS_ID - name of a star. V_MAG - mean brightness in V filter. dV - error calculated as a standard deviation. N - number of single measurements. RA, DEC - coordinates of a star given in decimal format for J2000. EPOCH - mean epoch in HJD-2450000. FIELD - name of a field a star was observed.

The full catalog is available in Catalogs section. The photometric zero-point offset calibration was performed using a few comparison stars selected for every observed field. Their magnitudes in V band were calculated from TYCHO-2 Catalogue. Since no instrumental color terms are available for SAVS photometry, we estimated the transformation equation by calculating the mean difference V-m_V between catalog magnitudes and SAVS ones.

In a figure below magnitude error versus mean brightness in V filter is presented. The diagram was plotted using data written in the catalog.

The detailed list of fields is available here. The light curves of individual stars and/or whole photometric databases are available upon request.
