September 2, 2002

The radio source FIRST J142643.2+315214 (Faint Images of the Radio Sky at Twenty-cm) was found to coincide with a star TYC 2553 316 1 (GSC 02553-00316) located in the constellation Bootes. It is a 9.92 photographic magnitude star according to GSC Catalogue and a 10.344 magnitude according to TYCHO. This object was found to be optically variable during a semi-automatic CCD sky survey program in the Piwnice Observatory. Observations were obtained during 29 nights between April 21 and August 20, 2002. 142 individual observations obtained in total were averaged within 29 one-hour intervals before analysis. Period search was performed with ANOVA method. Following results were obtained:
HJD of minimum
Period [d]
Amplitude [mag]
= 2452468.69 +/- 0.16
= 20.83 +/- 0.04
= 0.35 +/- 0.05

Phased with period 20.d83 light curve of FIRST J142643.2+315214
More observations will be performed in the future to determine the type of variability. The results were published in IBVS 5308 (compressed PostScript). The data are available upon request.
